Brunning & Price, The Restaurant Group-owned pub operator, has taken on the former Jamie’s Italian site in Cheltenham.

The company has submitted plans to transform the grade II listed former County Court building in Regent Street, Gloucestershire Live reports.

According to planning documents the group plans to convert the building into a “destination gastro pub”, removing the deli counter and restoring several historic fireplaces.

The application proposes moving the kitchen to the basement meaning the ground and first floors can be used by guests.

Upstairs the original parquet flooring will be restored and new seating areas created.

The plans have been submitted to Cheltenham Borough Council for consideration.
