Bruce Taverns, the Edinburgh-based multi-site operator, is looking at small groups of tenanted pubs and single site acquisitions as it looks to add to its 18-strong estate over the next few years.

Owner Kevan Fullerton told M&C Report that the group was in talks on a number of opportunities after experiencing a “very strong period of trading” over the summer.

The company recently opened part of what will become its 18th site, the Dram House in the Cowgate area of Edinburgh.

The new site is a three-level split venue which will eventually host three separate halls providing bars, restaurants and live entertainment when it fully opens next year.

Fullerton said: “We are always on the lookout for new opportunities and at present there are a couple of small tenanted groups that have come to our attention where the business as run into some trouble.

“The summer was great for us as we have a number of managed sites in key locations, especially in Edinburgh, The good weather and one the best attended Edinburgh Festivals helped us push on.”

The company operates a mixture of managed and tenanted sites across Edinburgh and Fife.
