Brewhouse & Kitchen, the brewpub business led by Kris Gumbrell and Simon Bunn, is to make its debut in West Sussex later this year, after securing a site in Horsham.
The 20-strong group, which last month opened its biggest site to date in Milton Keynes, is to take over the Wabi site in the town’s East Street. The company has exchanged on the freehold of the site.
Wabi, which was originally launched with chef Scott Hallsworth, was placed on the market last year by Paul and Verity Craig, who acquired the site for in excess of £1m in 2014.
Brewhouse & Kitchen is believed to be in talks on a further three sites, including a site in east London, as it looks at expansion opportunities, after securing £7.7m of new funding in January.
Earlier this year, it appointed Andy Spencer as its group operations director. Spencer spent 17 years with Greene King in a variety of roles, most recently as operations director for Metropolitan Pub Company.
Davis Coffer Lyons acted on behalf of the vendor.
