BrewDog has celebrated the “busiest ever week” for its bar division, with £3.54m in sales last week. 

Reflecting on the company’s 2023 performance, CEO James Watt revealed that it had welcomed 16.7 million customers to BrewDog bars during the year. 

It now operates 129 BrewDog bars, including its newest airport site, BrewDog Gatwick.

Alongside making 367 million cans of beer, the craft brewery said that Lost Lager had become the UK’s fastest growing beer with 180% more customers buying this beer than in 2022. 

Available in 57 countries, BrewDog is the number 1 imported craft beer in France, Italy, Sweden, Netherlands, Japan, Dubai, Spain, Ireland, Denmark, Switzerland, Finland, Austria.

BrewDog purchase intent increased by 47% in the UK in 2023, with a strong performance in retail. 

Watt revealed that 4.2 cans of BrewDog are sold every second in UK grocery, with its recently relaunched stout, Black Heart selling 13.7% of Guinness’s sales in UK grocery.

BrewDog beer sales have grown 82% from its Australian brewery.

Watt said, ”2023 has been a blast overall. Certainly not without its challenges and the trading environment has been incredibly difficult.

”But I am delighted with our overall performance and I feel so lucky to work with such a brilliant team and a team capable of posting the brilliant numbers above. Bring on 2024,” he added.
