Scottish brewery and operator Brewdog has announced its latest site openings.

The firm has confirmed they are set to open sites in London’s Soho and Islington, as well as Leicester, Brighton and Glasgow. Second sites in Edinburgh and Leeds were also confirmed.

The company also confirmed that it is in advanced talks to open a production facility in Columbus, Ohio. It said: “We will hopefully be able to provide you all with more of an update on this as soon as we can. In the meantime, we will continue to work hard to make this plan a reality.”

This year will also see BrewDog further expand its overseas empire, with BrewDog Oslo set to open in late May followed by Brussels and Berlin later in the year.

BrewDog Soho will become the brewery’s flagship site, second to the ‘mega’ bar planned for Glasgow’s Merchant City. The brand also hinted at further forays into food, with BrewDog Merchant City set to feature a full kitchen and ‘new food offering.’

Edinburgh will be home to the second BottleDog, a shop selling over 250 craft beers, as well as a filling station offering takeaway draught beer.

BrewDog Brighton will take the place of popular bar and live music venue The Blind Tiger Club, which was forced to close earlier last year due to noise complaints.

Co-founder James Watt told M&C’s sister title The Publican’s Morning Advertiser he was ‘optimistic’ about rolling out the BrewDog breakfasts recently launched at the Leicester site across more venues. Watt also spoke of his plans for a boutique craft beer hotel, which will include a Punk IPA mini keg in each room.

The brand launched its latest round of funding earlier this month, aiming to raise £25m by issuing 526,316 New B shares for the next 12 months.
