Brakspear is to open the former Grapevine coaching inn in Stow on the Wold as the Sheep on Sheep Street.

The building, which the Henley-based operator acquired in January, has undergone a significant refurbishment. This has seen the addition of a 100 cover restaurant, built around an open wood-fired oven with counter seating and a new craft beer & gin bar. The group has also updated and modernised the 22 hotel rooms.

Brakspear chief executive Tom Davies told MCA last month that accommodation would continue to be a focus of the company’s acquisition strategy.

He said the company was actively seeking its tenth managed site and was committed to expand beyond that.
