Bloomsbury Leisure, the craft beer bar and boutique bowling alley operator, has secured a new site for its long-awaited Farringdon Tap, MCA understands.

The group will launch the latest of its Taps at the former Indian restaurant site at 41 Farringdon Street, having originally earmarked the former Charterhouse Bar site on Charterhouse Street.

Founder Jon Dalton told MCA that the group is also set to open a Birmingham Tap at New Street Station in the summer and is in advanced negotiations on a site in Shoreditch.

It follows the launch last month of The Raven at Tower Bridge, after taking on the Bridge House site from Adnams. Dalton said the three-storey pub, which incorporates a tap bar, pool hall and live music room, had exceeded all expectations since opening.

At the end of 2018, the group opened The Jackalope in Marylebone, with a noodle kitchen and 16 beers on tap

The opening of Farringdon Tap takes the group to a 16-strong estate.
