The BII is to introduce three new categories as part of the Licensee of the Year awards for 2014.
The three categories - Fundraiser of the Year, Apprentice of the Year and Beer Sommelier of the Year winner - will join the Jeremy Allen Award, the SAB Miller Scholars Programme and the Licensee of the Year award at the event on 14 May at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.
BII chief executive Tim Hulme said: “The industry is full of dedicated, knowledgeable and hard working individuals and this new set of awards are designed to recognise some of those.
“It’s also a great opportunity for us to embrace organisations such as PubAid and the Beer Academy, who do so much to highlight the importance of pubs to the fabric of our community and in the case of the Beer Academy, the level of skill and knowledge that the industry can be so proud of these days.”
