Beds & Bars has reported sales up 9% for the year to March 2018 to exceed £50m for the first time, as it gears for a new funding push.

The group, led by Keith Knowles OBE, is expected to report EBITDA of £4.53m.

Breaking down the numbers, the group said bar sales across the group had grown 9% or £1.47m, with UK bar sales up 11%. Food sales grew by 13%, which the group said was its best performance to date.

Accommodation sales were up 10% - equivalent to a £2.2m growth, with 5% growth in the UK.

Managing director Murray Roberts said: “I’d like to say well done to all concerned, I am so proud to lead this great team of people.”

The group said it was looking to expand further across European cities would be seeking investment opportunities in the new financial year.

The group announced several internal promotions, including Sophie Herbert who becomes marketing director and will sit on the board; Luke Knowles who assumes the role of development and strategy director; chief finance officer, Mobin Rana, who is appointed company secretary for the board and Franz Burghoff, the group sales and revenue director.
