Be At One, the Piper-backed cocktail bar chain, has secured new openings in Liverpool and Birmingham, as it continues to grow its national presence, M&C has learnt.

The group, which recently opened in Camden, has exchanged on a former snooker hall under the Piccadilly Arcade in Stephenson Street opposite the newly refurbished New Street Station in Birmingham.

It plans to open the current 5,000sq ft shell unit next April.

Co-founder Steve Locke said: “We have had our eye on Birmingham for a while. Rhys (co-founder Oldfield) started his career in TGI Friday’s in Birmingham in 1991. In the last twelve months we have seen a jump in activity in Birmingham, particularly in the centre of town where we are opening.”

In Liverpool, the group has taken half of a former industrial unit from the Eclectic Group on Seel St. The 5,000sq ft site is split over ground and first floor with a large outside area.

Locke said: “We have been keen to open in Liverpool for quite a while but not found the ideal site on Seel St until now. With a planned opening in May, this will be our 32nd site and, following openings in Sheffield and Manchester, our fourth site in the North of England.”

The group, which saw group sales in its first half climb 30%, will open on the former Bowery Bar in Sheffield early next year.

The company, which recently opened in Norwich, is set to open its thirtieth site in Manchester next year.

The group secured the former Lola Lo site in Norwich and will open in the ex-Circle Club at the back of Manchester’s Barton Arcade.

The company believes it can eventually grow to 120 sites in the UK.
