British Country Inns (BCI), the pub company funded through tax-efficient EIS subscriptions, has acquired its 23rd site, the Three Horse Shoes in Allensmore, Hereford. The food-led pub comprises a bar and dining area with over 70 covers, a small function room, letting bedrooms and a large outside area. BCI, which is headed by Tim Udell, former retail director of Shepherd Neame, and Peter Matthews, former catering director at Marston’s, said that the pub fitted perfectly into the group’s model of food-led country inns. It is currently in negotiations to acquire two pubs in Wales through its fourth EIS fund.
