Barworks, the London-based bar and pub operator, is lining up the launch of a new all-day neighbourhood bar restaurant and café concept in Hackney, M&C understands.

The company, which launched its biggest site so far, the Singer Tavern, earlier this year in Shoreditch, has applied to take over Keltan House, a large 1960s building that stands next to Netil House on the junction of Mare Street and Westgate Street.

The 13-strong group, which is led by Marc Francis-Baum, said the planned site will be a “unique and versatile space for the locals of Hackney”.

The company currently operates bars such as the Well & Bucket, Harrild & Sons and Exmouth Arms across London.
