Barworks, the dining and late-night bar operator, has opened its third site under The Diner brand in Camden. The outlet on Jamestown Road comprises 70-covers indoors in booth seating and an al fresco area with a similar number of covers. The company, which was founded by Andreas Akerlund, Patrick Franzen and Mark Baum thirteen years ago, is looking to rollout The Diner brand in Central London. Akerlund said: “The concept is based on a American diner theme, although unlike other diners it does not have a 50s feel to it. “The Diner is the only branded part of the operation and we feel it would work as a chain.” The group runs two further The Diners in Soho and Shoreditch, where the average spend per head is around £12. The company also operates six other sites in the capital, including The Electricity Showroom in Hoxton Square, the Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen, The Slaughtered Lamb, Two Floors and The Westway.
