Barter Inns, the South East-based multiple operator, is set to open its 10th site after acquiring the freehold of the Diamond in Surrey, for an undisclosed sum off an asking price of £499,000. The group, which is led by Ken Ryan, intends to refurbish and reopen the pub in Hurst Green in time for Christmas, and offer a “relaxing eating and drinking environment”. The site comprises a traditional-style bar area, a modern restaurant area, a darts bar and a large decked and lawned garden area. Barter Inns, which was founded in 1993, is a sister operation to the four-strong Weir Inns and the two-strong Town Centre Inns. Christie + Co acted on behalf of the vendor.
