Barracuda has opened its latest Barracuda Bar in Scarborough, taking the number of sites under the brand to 18. The company invested £1m in the refurbishment and redevelopment of the former department store. Mark McQuater, the company’s chief executive, said: "I am delighted to be bringing the Barracuda Bar concept to the coastal town of Scarborough. "We have also been building our food offer within the brand and have launched a new top quality menu, offering some unusual South African dishes such as Cape Malay Lamb, and a firm South African favourite, the Boerewors Roll, as well as some traditional favourites and share plates." Barracuda is planning to open eight more outlets before the end of September and is converting four current sites to its Varsity brand.
