Barons Pub Company, an independent Surrey-based pub company, has secured its fifth site and first tenancy, whilst reporting that its turnover reached the £5m mark in 2012.

Next Monday, the company, which is led by Clive Price, will take over tenancy of the Crown & Cushion pub at Minley, Camberley. The pub, which is owned by Shepherd Neame, joins four existing Surrey leasehold pubs currently operated by the company.

Operations director Helen Pillinger said: “The new pub fits perfectly with our existing portfolio but operationally we will be running it as a unique entity with individually tailored menus that lean more towards the gourmet pub offering than our more traditional pub menus in our other four pubs.

“We are really excited about the Meade Hall and the possibilities it holds. We’re looking forward to catering a wide variety of functions with Hog Roasts, RotisseriesBBQs etc tailored by customers to meet their individual requirements and are looking at other events such as music nights and barn dances etc that the hall ideally lends itself to.”

Barons already lease their Cricketers pub in Horsell, Woking, Surrey, from Shepherd Neame.

The company’s other pubs are The Rose & Crown at Thorpe, Egham, Surrey and The Horseshoe at Warlingham, Surrey both Spirit Group pubs and lastly The Star at Malden Rushett, Leatherhead, Surrey – an Enterprise Inns’ lease.
