Banwell House Pub Company has sold the lease of its Tobias & The Angel site in Bath, MCA has learnt.

The craft beer and pizza concept launched last summer in the former Stable site and at the time founder Toby Brett said he hoped to roll it out nationally.

The lease interest was now been sold to the owner of the restaurant and cocktail bar next door; The Porter. The new owner also owns Halcyon, the serviced apartments above Tobias & The Angel.

Brett said: “With Tobias & The Angel, I tried something different from my other pubs. It was a great space with over 100 covers.”

“I was approached to sell and decided to dispose to allow the business to pursue other ventures more in keeping with Banwell House’s core business.”

Brett said Banwell House was currently negotiating on two premises and actively looking for freehold property in towns and cities in the South West.
