Baa Bar, the Liverpool-based late-night bar operator, is targeting Sheffield and Birmingham for its next openings and plans to spend £500,000 this year on a “brand overhaul”, chief executive Elaine Clarke has told M&C Report. She said the company is in talks over a Sheffield acquisition and added: “We are looking at Birmingham for the next site.” The £500,000 overhaul will be split across the company’s 11-strong estate, which includes eight Baa Bar-branded venues. Clarke said the investment will bring the estate in line with its latest opening in Leeds, which began trading in October after an investment of more than £600,000. Investments will focus on “iconic features” such as glitter balls, and also on adding extra seating, and key features such as upgrading toilets.
