Arc Inspirations saw turnover grow 9.4% in 2016 and recorded its biggest week in its 17-year history in December.

Chief executive Martin Wolstencroft told MCA that overall sales in December had increased by 21% year-on-year.

Like for like sales were up 5% for the £20m turnover group, with Wolstencroft citing a concentrated effort to promote its festive offering, a focus on advance bookings and the mild weather as the top reasons behind its best ever December.

The busiest site over the festive period was Banyan Bar & Kitchen Leeds City Square, averaging over £70K with the busiest day reported as Friday 16 December.

The week ending 18 December was reported as the business’ biggest ever week since inception in 1999.

The group also reported a 9.4% increase in turnover year on year following a successful 2016 for Arc Inspirations, which saw the launch of its flagship Banyan Bar & Kitchen in Leeds’ City Square and the rebrand of Harrogate and suburban Leeds sites.

In March the group will launch its second Manahatta on Leeds’ Greek Street following a £1.2m investment.

Wolstencroft said: “I’m extremely proud to achieve record-breaking results across our portfolio thanks to the dedicated efforts of all our teams. The results demonstrate our brand values - nobody does it better – and I’m looking forward to a successful 2017 for Arc Inspirations.”
