The Arbuthnot Group, led by Clement Ogbonnaya formerly of the Columbo Group, is to launch its first pub with plans for further expansion across London.

The group has refurbished the former Clayton Arms off Peckham High Street to launch the Prince of Peckham on 18 May.

The 300-capacity venue on Clayton Road is described as being a mixture of community hub, music venue and traditional pub. The pub will launch with a residency from Caribbean street food operator White Men Can’t Jerk.

Ogbonnaya said: “I used to go to school just down the road from Prince of Peckham and have been here ever since. To be able to do what I love in the place I grew up in makes this all the more special. Prince of Peckham will be a place where everyone can feel at home, but first and foremost it will be a proper pub for South London, by South London.”
