Akbars, the North England-based Indian restaurant chain, is to open its second site in Birmingham, after receiving approval to covert a former pub in the city. The 10s-trong group is tom open a 324-cover restaurant on the site of the Jug of Ale in the Moseley area of the city. It already operates a 300-cover in the city’s Hagley Road. Launched in 1995 in Bradford by Shabir Hussain, the group opened its first site in Newcastle earlier this year.
