Adventure Bar Group is to open its first international site - with a joint venture in France, MCA has learnt.

The group, which has opened two sites this year and delivered year-on-year growth, has agreed to run a seasonal on-piste bar with a capacity of 600 at the Hotel Courchneige in the ski resort of Courchevel. The as-yet unnamed bar, which will be the group’s seventh site, opens on 14 December.

The group which secured a partially used £2.5m funding facility from OakNorth earlier this year, launched two new concepts on Waterloo Road this year - Tonight Josephine, a late licensed cocktail-driven concept and Bar Elba, a 450-capacity space offering cocktails, beer and wine as well as hosting pop-up street food operators.

The group is expected to record turnover of £10m in the financial year to end of January.

Adventure Bar co-founder Tom Kidd told MCA: “Following the success of both Bar Elba and Tonight Josephine, we have been asked to help drive traffic into the re-energised F&B offering for the hotel. We will be creating a unique outdoor bar terrace expecting to serve over 50,000 guests over the four-month period each year. After all, who doesn’t love snow with beer and cocktails.”

Kidd said the group expected to open a further two or three sites in the coming year if the right venues became available. He added: “We are in no rush as our current sites are currently exceeding all expectations and we are happy shaping the company for the long haul by investing in great venues in the best locations.”
