Paul Holmes, marketing manager at Admiral Taverns, has left the business to set up his own marketing consultancy business — Howl Marketing,writes Paul Charity.
Holmes, who worked for Admiral for four and a half years, joined the company at the start of its growth to become one of the major pub companies in the UK.
Building on nearly 20 years of experience in the tenanted sector at Burtonwood Brewery, he developed the Admiral Taverns brand into one of the most recognisable in the pub industry, as well as providing strategic direction for the licensee recruitment function of the business.
Holmes said: “I had a fantastic time at Admiral Taverns, but I always wanted to work for myself, and I feel the time is right to do this now.
“Paradoxically investing in marketing during a recession is a great way of building confidence, durability and profitability, and I think there is a niche within many industries for consultancies to provide solutions to organisations that require marketing advice, or are looking for someone to deliver project work.”
