Intu, the shopping centre owner, has launched an incubation programme for start-ups in the hope of developing innovative businesses that will help shape the future of retail and leisure, writes The Times.

Start-ups joining the ten-week Accelerate programme will receive mentoring and be given central London office space.

They will have the chance to test their products and may win funding from Intu.

David Fischel, Intu’s chief executive, told the newspaper: “We’re hoping to identify start-ups for potential investment, which in turn will help us deliver a healthy return.”
