Veeno, the fast growing Italian wine café group, has appointed Andy Williams, formerly of Las Iguanas and Potbelly UK, as its new head of operations.

Williams spent over nine years at Las Iguanas, including the last year and a half as a regional operations director.

He recently spent a year as operations and business development director at Potbelly UK and Meat & Shake.

He joins Veeno after it has lined up three more sites for early 2018, with 10 planned over all for the year, MCA has learnt.

The brand will open at 74 West Street, Brighton, on the former Oxygen site, as well as the Golden Square Shopping Centre in Warrington. It has also lined up an opening in Norwich and is in talks on adding to its two sites in the capital.

Co-founder Nino Francesco Caruso told MCA the new sites would open under franchise, with the 10 new sites to bring the group to 28 over all.

Veeno opened its first franchised store in Cardiff last year, followed by Kingston, St Paul’s and Sheffield.
