Whitbread has appointed former Tesco executive Nigel Jones as transformation director.
Jones joined the group last month after 25 years at Tesco, most recently as operations director international.
Introducing him during yesterday’s analysts presentation following Whitbread’s interim results, chief executive Alison Brittain said: “Nigel will lead the charge in transforming our businesses so that we have a leaner and more efficient cost structures.”
The group is undertaking a three-year plan to make £150m of savings within the business and has identified £60m already.
