Urban Pubs & Bars appoints Toby Cowan as ops director

Urban Pubs & Bars has appointed Toby Cowan as its new operations director.

Nick Pring, director, Urban Pubs & Bars, told MCA the business was entering its next stage of growth and 2019 and 2020 looked set to be busy years.

“In order to achieve this continued growth, Toby Cowan will be joining the company as operations director on 20 March,” he said.

His appointment will free up Pring and fellow director Malcolm Heap from some of the day-to-day operations “allowing them to spend more time focusing on acquisitions and strategy”.

“We have known Toby for over 10 years and are really pleased he’s joining the team,” added Pring.

Cowan has previously held senior operational roles with Mitchells & Butlers, Stonegate, Young’s and most recently an international role with AB InBev where he set up and ran its new European hospitality division, including launching the Goose Island pub estate in the UK.
