Reuben Todd, who stepped down as group operations director of Ed’s Easy Diner, the Boparan Restaurant Group (BRG)-owned chain, earlier this year, has joined Patisserie Valerie, MCA has learnt.

Todd stepped down from Ed’s, which BRG acquired from Tesco last year for £8.75m, after four years with the business. He was one of the last of the chain’s previous management team to step down after the deal.

He joins the Luke Johnson-chaired Patisserie Valerie as a regional director with responsibility for the north.

His appointment is part of a reshuffle at the company after the departure of Adrian Johnson, who stepped down as managing director of Patisserie Valerie earlier this year.

Julie Armstrong has become regional director for the south and Dan Booker has become regional director for central operations.

All three report into chief executive Paul May.

On Todd’s appointment, May said: “We hope his casual-dining focus will help our business. I am trying to find more people-orientated operator for our business and I think he has that skill set to improve what we do and be a real asset for us. All three regional directors will report into me in the interim until I decide whether we need to enhance the team further.”
