Bowling operator Ten Entertainment Group has promoted Graham Blackwell to interim CEO with immediate effect.

Currently the group’s chief operating officer, Blackwell has over 30 years’ experience in the industry and has served on the Ten Entertainment board since the IPO in 2017.

In his new role, he will continue to work closely with CFO Antony Smith and interim executive chairman Nick Basing.

Following the appointment, current CEO Duncan Garrood will step down from the board and leave the business today (8 September), earlier than previously announced.

“The board were unanimous that Graham is the stand out candidate to lead the group,” said Basing. “He has been instrumental in the business transformation over recent years. His track record has been outstanding and I look forward to continuing to work closely with him.

“Under Graham’s direction I am confident that we will return to our trajectory of growth in sales and profitability.”
