Cameron Roberts, the former chief executive of Itsu, has been appointed chief operating officer of Nando’s Group, MCA has learnt.
In his new role Roberts, who left Itsu earlier this year, will lead a newly created International Operations Centre of Excellence bringing together the operations, supply chain, food and restaurant design functions across Nando’s c1,100 sites worldwide. He will report into group chief executive Andrew Lynch.
At the same time, Nigel Lemmon has joined Nando’s Group, from SAB Miller, in the role of group head of technology.
Lemmon, who was chief information officer at SAB Miller Europe, will support the technology functions across all Nando’s markets internationally.
Roberts joined Itsu as chief executive in summer 2014, overseeing the growth of the brand in the capital and regionally.
Last year, MCA revealed that Ivan Schofield had been appointed chief executive of Itsu UK Retail, with Roberts moving to head up the company’s new US subsidiary.
Prior to his appointment at Itsu, Roberts was a partner in PwC’s deals business.
He previously worked in operational roles in distribution, merchandising, category management and procurement at Marks & Spencer. He also worked for Sainsbury’s in the team that started the Tu clothing brand.
