Pret, the Bridgepoint-backed chain, has appointed David Di Cello, formerly of BT, as its new finance director, MCA has learnt.

Di Cello spent over three years at BT, latterly as finance director of its Wholesale arm. Previous to that he was head of finance, cost & capital at Marks & Spencer. He has also had stints at Sainsbury’s Asia and Amcor in Australia.

It is thought he will report into Pret’s chief financial officer Adam Jones.

Last week, Pret confirmed that it is to launch its first site in Germany, at Berlin Central Station, later this year.

The group is also in talks to open further sites in the Middle East and plans to grow the brand in North America as well as pushing into Canada.
