Pint Shop, Cambridge-based beer house concept, has appointed its first head of people as it gears up for its second site.

Nickie Bartsch joins from Leon, where she worked for nine years, most recently as head of people.

She said: “I’m looking forward to taking my next career step at Pint Shop. It is a great brand, with wonderful people working in it and my role is going to be a continuation of the positive work that has already been started by Rich and Benny. There are so many opportunities available for a long term career at Pint Shop and we want to make sure new and existing Team members are aware of this and encouraged to progress.”

Rich Holmes, co-owner at Pint Shop, said: “People and culture are the most important things to us at Pint Shop, which is why we wanted to employ a head of people. Benny and I have previously worked with Nickie and she has a proven track record for success, so we are confident that she will be an invaluable member of the Pint Shop team.

“We are going to have over 100 members of staff by the end of the year and we need someone who understands us, our brand, and most importantly, our Team, to help make this expansion an easy one for everyone involved.”

Last year, Leon appointed Tamara Griffin, formerly of Nando’s, as its first director of people.
