Zing Zing managing director Phil Peters has joined delivery rival Kitopi as head of UK expansion, MCA understands.

Peters was with Chinese delivery concept Zing Zing for three years, first as operations director, and later as managing director.

Kitopi is a Dubai-based start-up operates dark kitchens and launched in the UK at the start of the year.

The “cloud based” food tech platform, which received £22.3m series A funding from UAE-based Crescent Enterprises, Kitopi cooks food on behalf of brands from its delivery-only kitchens.

It is understood to have at least 10 operating in the UK.

Last week MCA revealed that Neil Lambert, who formerly headed up PizzaExpress (delivery), has left his role as managing director of Kitopi.

Meanwhile, marketing director Stacey Jaffe has also left Zing Zing in recent months, to join Gym Food.

Led by Josh Magidson, Zing Zing has four delivery-only sites, but has paused its expansion in recent years.

The company has had two successful crowdfunding campaigns, raising more than £2m.
