Pernod Ricard, the international wine and spirit producer, has announced that David de Mardt, currently managing director of the company’s South African arm, is to head its UK business. Mardt is to replace Jean-Manuel Spriet as MD of Pernod Ricard UK on 1 September. Spriet is to take the role of MD of Pernod Ricard Korea. Pernod Ricard has also created a new role of managing director of its Business Innovation Group (BIG), to be filled by Alain Dufosse, currently MD of Pernod Ricard Deutschland. Meanwhile, Alexandre Ricard, currently chairman and chief executive of the group’s Irish Distillers arm, has been appointed managing director of Pernod Ricard’s distribution network - he starts the role on 1 September. His current role will be filled by Anna Malmhake, marketing director of the Absolute company.
