Martin Burke has been appointed group chief marketing officer for Patisserie Valerie and Bakers + Baristas.

Burke was previously marketing & e-commerce director at Bettys & Taylors of Harrogate, the Yorkshire-based brand behind Yorkshire Tea and Bettys Café Tea Rooms.

His previous roles include senior marketing manager for Warner Bros Entertainment and marketing manager – Europe for Playstation. He has also held marketing roles at Electronic Arts and The Kraft Heinz Company.

Patisserie Valerie merged with Bakers + Baristas in March 2020. The former has an estate of 30 - following the closure of nine sites which failed to recover sufficiently after the pandemic - while the latter has an estate of 60.
