The New World Trading Company has been named in the top 5 best companies to work for in the Sunday Times’ annual rankings.

The Chris Hill-led group improved on last year’s position of seventh to become the highest ranking hospitality company in the list at number 5.

In assessing the company, the judges found 88% of staff agreed their job was good for their own personal growth, 97% said their team was fun to work with and 79% were happy with their pay and benefits.

The judges said: “They place great emphasis on internal progression that encourages senior managers to look for bright stars, during recruitment and thereafter, where regular informal talks and formal appraisals lead to the development of personal training plans.

“They progress the hardest working, talented and committed members of our team and take them to the top, regardless of previous experience. In addition, they deliver industry recognised training programs for each member of staff.”

Dishoom was ranked as the 19th best company in the list with Oakman Inn at 25 and Las Iguanas at 26.

Other representatives from the sector included Flat Iron (36), Hawksmoor (45), Peach Pubs (48), Buzzworks Holdings (73) and The Alchemist (95).
