Nando’s has appointed Maria Horn to the position of acting CEO for the UK & Ireland, while the company looks to recruit a permanent replacement for Robb Papps.

Horn joined the business in September 2014 as people director, before being made compass director, where she has overseen the growth the brand’s culture. She was made acting CEO in February.

Previously to Nando’s she was group talent and leadership development director at Whitbread, and was also HR director at Costa Coffee.

MCA reported in November that Papps had appointed as group chief executive of Nando’s after spending eight years as managing director of Nando’s UK & Ireland. He took over from Andrew Lynch last month.
