Jason Cotta has stepped down as chief executive for Ole & Steen UK.

Jesper Dixen, chief commercial officer for the company’s Danish arm, Lagkagehuset, will serve as interim group CEO.

Cotta joined the Danish premium bakery chain as CEO in August 2019 from his previous role as managing director for Costa Coffee.

He oversaw the business’s growth to c26 UK sites, the majority of which are in London.

Earlier this year, former Wagamama and PizzaExpress CEO David Campbell was appointed to chair Ole & Steen’s parent company, Danish Bake Holding, as it looks to expand across Denmark, London, and New York.

The business, which sees opportunity for 50-60 locations within the M25, also launched a grab-and-go offering earlier this year designed for high traffic commuter areas.
