Island Poke founder James Gould-Porter has joined breakfast concept Bangers London as a non-executive director.

Bangers serves breakfast buns and pots for delivery, and is opening its first bricks and mortar breakfast bar in Shoreditch in Spring.

The concept has been operating out of kitchen space at the Fountain Tap on Rivington Street.

The new breakfast bar will be part-restaurant, part-deli, and will serve breakfast buns, slow-cooked baked beans in jars, with the buns from the Spence bakery.

Gould-Porter founded Hawaiian-inspired food to go concept Island Poke in 2016 in Kingly Street.

It was initially backed by Chris Miller’s White Rabbit Projects, with German Doner Kebab backer Hero Brands investing in 2021.

Nicolas Barnoin, formerly of Famously Proper and Itsu, joined as managing director in 2022.
