Andrew Hazel has stepped down as head of UK food operations at Splendid Restaurants, the operator of the Absurd Bird and Jack & Alice concepts, to join Giraffe and Ed’s Easy Diner owner Boparan Restaurant Group.

Hazel, a former senior kitchen training manager at M&B, joined Splendid Restaurants, which is led by ex-Mitchells & Butlers director Mark Hall, at the start of January 2016.

He joins Boparan, which is currently exploring expansion opportunities for Slim Chickens, its Texas fried chicken concept, as its new head of food development.
