Tony Gualtieri, retail operations director at Mitchells & Butlers (M&B), has left the company to take up a senior operations role at Greene King, M&C Report understands.

Mark Hall, current retail director overseeing M&B’s O’Neill’s brand, has been appointed to succeed Gualtieri, who was in charge of the company’s Castle division.

The title and scope of Gualtieri’s new role has yet to be announced.

Hall has been with M&B for over three years. He has overseen the evolution of the 49-strong O’Neill’s brand over the last two years, including the development of the O’Neill’s Irish Pub and Kitchen concept, plus a remodel rollout to evolve the brand.

Previously, he was operations development manager for the company’s Castle Pubs, and helped oversee the rollout of the evolution of the division under M&B’s Project Darwin, from briefing stage to ROI review.

The evolution centred around the development of the food and service offer, as well as focussed amenity investment.
