Giraffe, the Tesco-owned chain, has appointed Charlotte McCarter, formerly of Addison Fowle, as its new head of recruitment.

McCarter joins the group after four years as a managing consultant at Addison Fowle and before that managing partner at Eureka Executive Search.

The company, which will open its next site in Wisbech next month, has been searching for a new head of recruitment after Andrew Kemsley was promoted to the role of head of hospitality and culture late last year.

The group, which will look to open at least 10 new sites this year, is currently looking for someone to fill a newly created position of head of training.

A spokesperson said: “The role of head of recruitment, along with the new position of head of training, is to ensure that we continue to attract and recruit the best people possible to meet our current and future business needs, establishing Giraffe as the hospitality employer of choice.”

The 51-strong group has further openings lined up in Cheam and Milton.

The company will make its first foray into an out-of-town site after securing a unit in the new £4m leisure terrace at the Kingston Centre in Milton Keynes.

It recently secured a second site in Scotland, after taking a unit at the West Regent Street development in Glasgow.
