Gaucho marketing director Matt Ford has stepped down from his role after 14 years with the group.

The group was acquired earlier this month by investors Investec and SC Lowy with a management team led by former MD Martin Williams coming on board.

Ford said he felt the timing was right to search out new opportunities.

He said: “I wish the new Gaucho management team every success. I’ve had 14 wonderful years building the Gaucho brand, a distinctive, much-loved restaurant group working with some amazing people to create an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

“It’s been a huge part of my life and I’ve worked with great loyalty throughout the many changes in management over the past few years, at all times helping the brand to evolve and grow, with its continued success as my goal.

“First up is a long holiday, then I will look at future opportunities within the hospitality industry.”

Administrators Deloitte are set to release their proposals for the group this week. It is understood that it will set out a plan to continue trading all 16 UK Gaucho sites with the disposal of all 22 CAU sites and the Sucre restaurant in Buenos Aires.
