A further group of the sector’s leading players have pledged their support to the Tim Bacon Foundation, the charity established in the late Living Ventures co-founder’s name to recognize his achievements, to continue his legacy and to echo his legendary generosity of spirit.

Ron Pearson at Bowmark Capital (backers of Drake & Morgan); Danny Fox at Fox Restaurants; Richard Littman at the Mermaid Centre; and Chris Kennedy at Medlock Energy Management are the latest wave of operators and sector players to pledge their support for the Foundation, which will support charities in the fight against cancer in all its painful and hurtful guises.

They join the likes of Brasserie Blanc, CDG, New World Trading Company, Hawksmoor, Tortilla, JW Lees, The Alchemist Bar and Restaurant, Ego Restaurants, Gusto Restaurant and Bar and Blackhouse in pledging funds to the Foundation, with £200k raised so far.

Sadly Tim lost his own battle with cancer last year. The first appeal to be undertaken by the Foundation, which is being overseen by Tim’s erstwhile business partner and close friend Jeremy Roberts, will be to support The Christie Hospital and University College London in their appeal to raise funds for Proton Beam Therapy centres in Manchester and London and Maggie’s Centres who provide much needed free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their families and friends and is a key partner for the clinical services of the Christie Hospital.

MCA is very proud to have adopted the appeal and will be working with Jeremy and the team at Living Ventures to recruit founding Friends. MCA will announce the latest commitments to the Foundation in regular updates throughout the year.

Roberts continued: “We have made a great start and a huge thank you to friends and colleagues who have committed so far, I hope that you can assist us by committing your business to donate or raise funds over the course of 2017 and become a founding Friend of the Foundation.

“The Foundation and its new found Friends will be conducting many and varied events during 2017 but the highlight will be held in September when we will be celebrating Tim’s life and achievements with a unique multi restaurant celebration dinner which will be sponsored by the Living Ventures Group and held across all our businesses in Manchester city centre. The Dinner will be followed by the “Dream the Impossible” party in true Tim style at a secret venue in the city.”

Further details of events being held will be announced over the coming weeks and months and will be featured at the website: www.timbaconfoundation.co.uk.If you wish to pledge you can do so at the website or if you prefer by contacting Jeremy directly by email: jeremyroberts@livingventures.com.
