Euphorium Bakery, the Soho Coffee-owned chain, has appointed Darren Moore, formerly of the Kout Food Group and Little Chef, as its new managing director, MCA understands.

Moore takes over the running of the five-strong chain, after three years as commercial director at Kout. Previous to that he was director of dining for over four years at Little Chef.

He replaces James Fleming, the former Paul UK chief executive, who stepped down from the business earlier this year after Soho Coffee acquired it from Tesco.

Soho Coffee’s chairman, Chris Copner, said the acquisition of the five Emporium Bakery sites from Tesco fitted in with the strategy that saw the group buy the Apostrophe chain last year.

The group, which intends to retain and develop the brand, also took control of Euphorium’s Islington Bakery from Tesco.

The supermarket giant is in the process of rebranding all in-store Euphorium Bakery units to its own brand.
