Chapel Down Group, the English winemaker and brewer, has announced that former Scottish & Newcastle chief executive John Dunsmore is to become its chairman with immediate effect.
Paul Brett, the previous chairman, is standing down but will remain on the board as a non-executive director along with Nigel Wray and Jamie Brooke of Henderson Global Investors Limited.
Dunsmore joined as a non-executive director in July 2013. Brett has been chairman for 13 years.
Frazer Thompson, chief executive, said: “After 13 years overseeing a prodigious amount of growth and change, Paul Brett is standing down as chairman. He will remain on the board. John Dunsmore has been on our board since July and brings a wealth of industry experience and know-how. It has been great to work with Paul and we will continue to benefit from his wisdom, and I am delighted to be working with John to drive the business forward.”
