Henry Dimbleby has stepped down from the board of Leon, the company he founded with John Vincent.

Dimbleby, who founded the 50-strong chain with Vincent in 2004, will remain a shareholder but has stepped down from the group’s board after the recent investment in the business by Spice Private Equity.

Spice, which recently invested £25m into the brand in exchange for a significant minority stake, has seen its representatives Fersen Lambranho and Rodrigo Boscolo join Leon’s board.

A Leon spokesperson told CITYAM that Dimbleby would “continue to be John’s business partner and number one fan”.

Spice said its investment would help Leon to pursue its growth plan in the UK and internationally. With the transaction, Spice became the largest shareholder of Leon, working in partnership with Vincent and Active, a long standing investor in the business.
