D&D London chief executive, Des Gunewardena, has joined the board of Fulham Shore as a non-executive director.

He will be appointed chairman of the company’s audit committee and a member of the remuneration committee.

Fulham Shore’s chairman David Page said: “We warmly welcome Des to the Fulham Shore board where he will add both wit and gravitas. We have watched the expansion of D&D London under his guidance with admiration. He brings with him his extensive industry experience and market know-how, both of which will greatly benefit Fulham Shore as we grow over the coming years.”

Gunewardena holds 454,545 ordinary shares in the Company, with one voting right per share.

The announcement came on the same day that D&D revealed its results for the year ended 31 March, in which turnover was up 3% to £107.8m and EBITDA grew 16% to £13m. Overall like-for-like sales were up 3% with Paternoster Chophouse’s like-for-likes growing 28%, Quaglinos’ up 22% and Madison’s growing 18%.
