Creams Café has appointed Oliver Rodbard as chief operating officer as the dessert restaurant chain embarks on the next stage of its national and international expansion.

Rodbard will take on a role with a strong focus on franchise engagement and growth, alongside collaboration with the executive team to develop, refine, and execute the overall business strategy as Creams continues to expand.

He brings over 16 years of experience in the food and hospitality industry within franchise models, and joins Creams Café from his role as COO at Soul Foods Group, a global franchisee for the KFC, Starbucks, Burger King, and Taco Bell brands.

Rodbard’s previous experience includes 12 years with Yum! Brands, working primarily on Pizza Hut, where he began as area and regional operations manager. He was most recently appointed director, customer and capability Canada, a role in which he was responsible for operations, HR, and restaurant technology for 450 franchised restaurants.

In the last three years, Creams has strengthened its senior team to support its rapid growth plans, with several new appointments including Everett Fieldgate as CEO.

Across the UK, the chain has opened over 100 stores, with the next national focus to be on further openings in the North of England.

Creams also recently began a partnership with Tesco in a franchise agreement to open co-branded cafes nationwide.

Creams Cafe CEO Everett Fieldgate commented: “We’re delighted to have appointed a COO with the perfect background for us. Oliver has global QSR and casual dining experience, in addition to invaluable franchise know how that perfectly translates to Creams Cafe and our wider mission to expand our presence throughout the UK, and internationally. As we push forward on our trajectory of growth, I’m excited to have Oliver join me at the helm for what promises to be a very exciting few years for the brand!”

Rodbard added: “I’m excited to join Creams Cafe and take on a new challenge as the brand continues its expansion to fulfil its ambition to be the world’s largest dessert cafe brand. The sector is experiencing remarkable growth, driven by changing consumer preferences, and a desire for unique and indulgent experiences, so it’s the right time for Creams to be looking at what comes next. As someone who is passionate about growing brands through customer experiences, I’m excited to return to the franchise sector, especially with such a highly talented Leadership Team.”
