The Ivy Collection, operator of the Ivy Grill and Ivy Café formats, has further strengthened its operations team with the appointment of Duncan Colbeck as operations director, MCA has learnt.

Colbeck joins the fast-growing group, which is thought to be contemplating an opening at the Battersea Power Station development, after 14 years at D&D London.

He was most recently senior general manager at D&D.

The Richard Caring-backed Ivt Collection recently strengthened its pipeline in the capital, with an acquisition in north west London.

The four-strong group, which will open in Bristol and Wimbledon this spring, has lined up the former Café Rouge site in St John’s Wood for an opening of an Ivy Café, later this year.

The company, which is also in talks on sites in Guildford and Bath, plans roll out the Ivy Café format across the country and that up to 10 sites were currently under consideration for the fledgling concept.

The group is set to open a brasserie at the One Tower Bridge development next to Potters Fields Park. It will open a c8,000sq ft site at the Berkeley Homes scheme.
